Livability

Hello everyone. Our new topic for Term 2 in Geography is LIVABILITY. You will begin by conducting research to find out what livability is and what makes an area of the world livable. Here is a link to a slideshow of some of the world's most livable cities. This should help you out.

Question: What does livability mean?

Question: What makes an area livable?

Question: What do all the most livable cities in the world have in common?

You may work in pairs to answer these questions.

Mexico City
Tehran
Darwin
Seoul
Palermo
Johannesburg

Are your cities livable? If not, why not? If yes, then why?

List the climate types of each of these cities and their populations. Also find out the average annual rainfall and highest and lowest temperatures.

  1. 1. Livability means a country or place that is suitable for living.
    2. The most important things to make a certain area livable (in my perspective) is firstly to be a safe area, and to also have access to food and water. And to also have a proper shelter to live in.
    3. Most livable countries have money in common, because they can use the money to build shelters and provide water and food to the poor. And they can also have good weathers that are suitable in, for example.. Places the get snow very often may not be a suitable to live in.
